My Story

My name is Adrian Ables and I grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma. I started playing soccer when I was four at the Midwest City Soccer Club. Throughout my soccer career my parents did everything they could to support me. I played in the ‘94 age group for the Midwest City Vision, NOKC Padova, OFC and 93 OFC. I played for Midwest City High school for all 4 years as well.

I’ve played all around the city with clubs, leagues, colleges, and in the streets. I first started playing futsal in middle school whenever it was too cold outside. I really loved the game and the technical aspect of it. The soccer world is really small, and playing in different places exposes you to different cultures within the game. For example, many soccer coaches, directors, and players on the Energy are old teammates that I’ve played with or against in the past. Futsal is a great way to connect with new players outside of the club mentality.

For college I attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana where I graduated with a degree in computer science. I was a starter every year and developed amazing friendships and teammates along the way. I achieved history for my school with my teammates by making it to the sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament my senior year.

During college, I did a 6 month internship with Devon Energy. I was blessed with the opportunity to train with the Energy team in the mornings and go straight to work after practice. It was exhausting but totally worth it! The training prepared me for my professional combines.

Three days after college I started training with Rayo OKC. Those were some of the best times of my life. I was living my dream...in my hometown...playing with world cup players daily.

After Rayo, I went to Indy 11 where I made even more friends and was able to live in a familiar city that was close to my college. I've been blessed with opportunity and I want to pass it on to the next generation.
